Warwick Castle – Summer of Spectacular Shows

During wedding season, I find it’s good for the creative mind to have a day off (away from the computer!) so on Friday, I took my Godson and his little sister for a day trip to Warwick Castle!

I think as a child I had visited the castle on a School trip, but I honestly cannot remember.. so it was great to visit as an adult and see all the fun things they had on for the summer.

After a short walk from the car park, we headed over to watch War of the Roses, when we arrived we were asked to pick a side… we picked red! The story about the rival houses is great and the kids loved watching the horses. It’s also under cover, so if you can’t rely on the British weather.. atleast you can stay dry!

We then sat on the grass and ate our picnic whilst waiting for The Falconer’s Quest to begin. This was probably my favourite. Watching the birds of prey swoop over our heads (they go so low it’s amazing) and you can really see how huge they are. I found this part of the day really interesting and enjoyable.

After getting an ice cream, we walked around the castle, inside and out. I love visiting old buildings and seeing all the rooms filled with old photographs.

I would recommend visiting Warwick Castle this summer holiday, there really is so much to do! I would definitely go back.. I want to try the archery!
