I always feel an added pressure when photographing a friends wedding. I also feel an added pressure when it rains BADLY. On this day, I had both.
I met Kim in primary school, we used to have Coventry season tickets together and holiday in a caravan in Wells (we were so cool). I was honoured when she and Liam asked me to photograph their wedding!
Kim is a hairdresser, so she got ready at home with her bridesmaids, doing all their own hair and make up. Her stunning dress was from Proposals and shoes from Jimmy Choo (LOVE). Kim had the most beautiful head piece from Melancholy Magpie Couture and her flowers were by Graham Giles florist.
The weather on their wedding day was pretty awful. It rained. Non stop. Kim and her bridesmaids left for the church hiding under umbrellas to keep dry!
After the church service, guests left in a wedding bus for Coombe Abbey.. yes, it was still raining.
We managed to get outside in Coombe Abbey, using umbrellas for photographs. Kim and Liam didn’t complain once about the weather.
As it started to dry up, we were able to use the terrace for more photographs, then it was inside the marquee for the speeches and wedding breakfast. The marquee looked amazing. Beautiful flower centre pieces and a sequinned top table. The fabulous cake was by Celebration cakes.
In the early evening the sun began to shine, which was great for a group shot and confetti. Then first dance infront of the LOVE letters.
Thank you so much for picking me to photograph your day!
