PARIS

I don’t know what it is about Paris, but I keep booking trips there. I can’t quite put my finger on the exact thing I love, I think it’s just many things all rolled into one.
I feel like Paris is somewhere I could live, there’s beauty round every corner. Maybe that’s why I keep going back.

We flew with Air France from Birmingham on a short 55 minute plane journey. I think the actual time spent getting to the Charles De Gaulle arrival gate is longer than the time in the air – that airport is huge! Being booked on the 9:20am flight, means you can get to the centre of Paris for lunch… Which we did at the fabulous Angelina’s! I read somewhere that Audrey Hepburn loved Angelina’s.. and well, she had taste :) The cakes there (and infact in the whole of Paris) are like mini works of art. All the same size and all mouth watering.

On this trip I did some things I’d done before, like wander the streets for miles and sit on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower but I also threw in some new experiences.

Galleries Lafayette – Not only is this a BEAUTIFUL department store full of the best designers, but you can go to the terrace and look out over Paris for free! Perfect.
-We also took a trip over to The Palace of Versailles, I blogged more about this day here.
-Now this might sound a little morbid.. but it will explain the cemetery photographs! Père-Lachaise is the largest cemetery in Paris where some famous people have been buried. I think you have to have died in Paris or have lived there to be buried there and it is full to the brim. Oscar Wilde, Chopin and Jim Morrison are all buried there. Jim Morrison’s grave had barriers round where fans had left messages. It’s an interesting place to have a wander round.

I absolutely adore this place and I will definitely return.

Au revoir Paris!
