The Château de Versailles has always been one of those places I wanted to visit but never got round to doing so. It always looked stunning on photographs, so I knew it would be one of those places I would love wandering around. On my latest trip to Paris, I finally took a trip!
We got the train at Saint Lazare in Paris to Versailles which only took about 30 minutes, then walked to the Palace. We pre-booked tickets online, however, upon on arrival this seemed to mean nothing and we had to join a huge queue. It moved pretty quick and we were in! This place is busy! Very busy. People pushing and the rooms are crowded… lucky for me I am a wedding photographer and I am used to getting my small self to the front to get the photograph I’d like haha.
The Palace of Versailles is dripping with gold, everywhere you look you see gold. It’s amazing. I enjoyed just wandering from room to room and taking in the surroundings. I particularly loved the hall of mirrors.. a room I was excited to see! It was just as amazing as the photographs. After walking around the apartments, we then went to the gardens. Because they are so big, they seem a little less crowded. They were just as amazing and gave great views of how huge the Palace is. We hired a golf cart to drive round the grounds, this was a great idea and they are that big you wouldn’t cover it all.
I took over 200 photographs.. oops! Here are a few, hope you like them!
Here’s a little phone video of the golf buggy!
