Italy is one of those places I could visit over and over and never get bored. I love the food, the museums, the streets, how everyone sits outside in cafes on the streets late at night. It’s perfect.
Last week I visited the lovely city of Florence for 5 nights. Originally, we were going to go to Pisa for a day, but decided to do that on another trip – any excuse!
Like Paris, I could wander the streets of Florence forever. With no destination in mind, it’s great to just walk aimlessly around the streets and just take in the wonderfulness.
However, there were things that I wanted to see and do whilst in Florence;
The Duomo is breathtaking. I am not a religious person, however, the Cathedrals in Italy amaze me. They’re so beautiful to walk round (my tip is to go in at about 4/5pm because there’s less of a queue! :)).
The Ponte Vecchio bridge is lovely to see and walk across. Also, the river where artists sit and paint. Perfect!
The Boboli Gardens are stunning. It was pretty hot when I was there, but it was great to take a walk around the gardens, just stunning.
Accademia Gallery where you can see the statue of David – this was cool to see. I didn’t go in the Uffizi though… I’ll have to go back! ;)
Florence you gorgeous city.
