I met David on my first day of working at Tesco when I was 18. He was one of my managers and I never dreamt for one second that nearly 10 years later I would photograph his wedding!
A few years passed and I received a message asking if I could meet David and his fiancée Lucy to talk about photographing their wedding, and I am SO glad they booked me.
Lucy is my type of girl. She loves details, beautiful things and well, she loves Christian Louboutin.
David and Lucy got married at the absolutely stunning Dodmoor House. From the second I arrived I was surrounded by details, they were everywhere.
The room where Lucy and her bridesmaids got ready was just as stunning. Considering it was November this room was so bright and airy, Lucy’s dress was hung so beautifully against the tall curtain backdrop – ah amazing! I also don’t think I’ve ever taken as many photographs of a pair of shoes.. but they were Christian Louboutins and oh so beautiful!
Dodmoor House’s ceremony room is all open brick, a great backdrop. Bunches of flowers were hung on the chairs and paper hearts were scattered down the aisle. After the ceremony guests were asked to pick a herb that represented either friendship, devotion, virtue or good wishes.. then instead of throwing confetti guests threw the herbs. The smell was amazing and it looked beautiful!
Dodmoor House’s grounds are so simple yet so effective. The open brick and rose wall were my favourite, great for photographs. Inside more detail filled the wedding breakfast room and guests wrote their well wishes on a typewriter.
At night Lucy and David ran through a sparkler arch held by their guests and then danced away the evening.
I had such a lovely day photographing your wedding. I can’t thank you enough for picking me to document it!
